Situation: A ridge of high pressure lies over New Zealand today. Tomorrow, a deep low, with severe weather, approaches the Far North. The low is expected to track slowly southeast during Sunday and Monday. On Tuesday, a narrow ridge should move onto the country.

For the Manukau and Waitemata Harbours and the Hauraki Gulf:
Today: Southeast 10 knots, rising to easterly 15 knots tonight. Sea slight. Fine, with high cloud increasing.
Tomorrow: Easterly rising to 30 knots gusting 50 knots in the afternoon, then to southeast 45 knots gusting 70 knots early evening. Sea becoming rough in the afternoon and high early evening. Fair visibility in rain developing during the morning, becoming poor in heavy rain from evening.

For Bream Head to Cape Colville:
Today: Southeast 15 knots, rising to easterly 20 knots gusting 30 knots tonight. Slight sea becoming moderate tonight. Fine, with high cloud increasing.
Tomorrow: Easterly 25 knots gusting 35 knots rising to 35 knots gusting 55 knots late morning then to southeast 50 knots gusting 70 knots late afternoon. Rough sea becoming very rough late morning and high late afternoon. Fair visibility in rain developing during the morning, becoming poor in heavy rain from evening.
